A Summer Reunion, Part 2 – Sunday Brunch.

Posted By Jamie Wong >>> 2 Comments

On the last day in Los Angeles for our girls’ weekend/summer reunion, Adrianna hosted a Sunday brunch. We also got to celebrate the birth of our little baby Harper. Adrianna and Hailee and her parents prepared some super delicious brunch foods and Adrianna decorated her house to the nines. We had a lovely backyard brunch complete with a champagne bar, bocce ball and a hammock to catch some warm LA sun. This was the perfect way to end the weekend with just 17 of our closest college friends. I love these gals and I’m so happy we got to reunite in lovely Los Angeles. Thank you Adrianna for hosting us (and turning your home into a sorority house) and thank you Adrianna and Hailee for a wonderful weekend!

A Summer Reunion, Part 1 – Beach Day.

I recently went to Los Angeles for a little summer reunion with 20 of our closest college girlfriends. Our friends Adrianna and Hailee planned a whole weekend for all of us, including a beach day, a night on the town and a lovely Sunday brunch. It’s amazing to me that so many of us have kept in touch since we all left college. It was definitely a fun-filled, drama-free, girls’ weekend that was long awaited, much needed and super fabulous. Thank you so much Adrianna and Hailee for getting everything together!

A weekend in Big Sur.

Before we jet off to Los Angeles for the weekend, I wanted to share a weekend we took a few weeks ago to Big Sur in the Santa Cruz mountains. My sister Jasmine arranged a little weekend getaway and rented a house up in the mountains and just a stone’s throw away from the ocean. We stayed in what was called the “Dragon House,” an eclectic 4 story cabin built right into the mountain. Complete with an outdoor bathroom, lily pond, lover’s suite, yoga balcony, views of the ocean and hiking trails jutting out to other hidden treasures. Our friends Joe, Jer, James and their pup Jake also joined us. It was peaceful (except when Chris and I found a snake in the shower) and sunny and warm and it was nice getting away with the gang for a bit. I am so grateful to live in such a beautiful part of the world where mountains and oceans and sunny blue skies are so accessible. I think we’re in for many more excursions to this part of Northern California!

Happy Summer!

For me, June will always mark the beginning of summer, vacations and warm relaxing days. It might be my everlasting school-girl mentality that I’m still stuck in (even though I’ve been out of college for a few years now). When June rolls around it’s always the season of graduations, traveling, baby births (there seem to be so many in the summer!), going to the beach, vacationing, street fairs, pool parties and barbeques. In San Francisco, we only get a few sunny days July through August, so they’re fully taken advantage of when they come. Fortunately, Chris and I have migrated to the warmth of the East Bay and we’re often hanging out in San Jose (where it reaches the 90′s) so we’ll have plenty of opportunities to work on our tans and enjoy a real summer. Anyhow, summer will also mark the beginning of my rejuvenated blog posting so hooray! I have lots of projects to share. For now, here’s a lovely photo of Ocean Beach in San Francisco. I snapped this on the evening Chris popped the question back in April but it still reminds me of summer. Happy summer everyone!
